Chi Mei Medical Center, originally founded as Father Fox Memorial Hospital in 1968 with just 66 beds, has grown into the largest integrated healthcare system in the Yunlin-Chiayi-Tainan area. The hospital moved to its current Yongkang location in 1986, was renamed Chi Mei Foundation Hospital in 1992, and was accredited as a medical center in 2000. Today, the Chi Mei Health System encompasses three campuses—Yongkang, Liouying, and Chiali—with a combined total of approximately 2,500 beds and over 6,500 employees. The center serves more than three million patients, offering high-quality, patient-centered healthcare, and is a leader in medical education and research in southern Taiwan.
