Dryanovo Monastery "St. Archangel Michael" is a historic Bulgarian Orthodox monastery located in the picturesque Andaka River Valley, near the town of Dryanovo, in the Gabrovo region of Bulgaria. Founded in the 12th century during the reign of Tsar Kaloyan, it has played a significant role in Bulgaria's spiritual and historical heritage. Over the centuries, it has been rebuilt and restored after multiple attacks and destruction, particularly during the Ottoman invasions. It is known for its beautiful natural surroundings, historical significance, and role in the April Uprising of 1876. Today, the monastery serves as a spiritual center, tourist attraction, and a place of pilgrimage.
