In the early 1980s, a considerable number of young medical professionals participated, having the privilege of obtaining training in hospitals around the world. From then on, the Chiriquí Hospital Society was founded in May 1986 with the support of distinguished business leaders from the country. Construction of this hospital center, covering an area of ​​approximately 12,500 square meters, was finally completed under the direction of architect Lettfalah Nader.

Chiriquí Hospital opened its doors to the Panamanian community on July 2, 1988, comprised of a full team of 40 medical professionals and specialists, focused on providing high-quality service and implementing the ethical and moral principles that have distinguished us to this day. 

The need to create Chiriquí Hospital arose from the need to introduce a specialized private care center designed to provide cutting-edge medical and technological services. By prioritizing the needs of our patients, we have been tasked with constantly updating our technology and medical services, adapting our modern infrastructure to meet market demands and adapting to the diversity of medical specialties we incorporate each year.

Over the years, Chiriquí Hospital has gained recognition in the private healthcare sector for its growing patient population, the identification of new medical specialties, investment in the latest technology in medical equipment and infrastructure, and a trained human resource dedicated to providing efficient medical services to the Panamanian and foreign communities.

I had to spend 5 days here because of an emergency I had with an infection on the foot. The staff is very professional and friendly. They are very attentive even though some of them only speak little english. It is probably a bit on the expensive side but that’s how it normally is with private hospitals.

My wife had bleeding in the eye. We went to the emergency desk. The clerk contacted an ophthalmologist. We were with the specialist minutes later. She did a thorough examination, made a treatment plan and wrote prescriptions. She also detected another issue besides the ulcer to the eye and prescribed treatment. Not bad for late on a Friday afternoon!
