Inaugurated on May 14, 2020, the Hospital de Urgência (HU) was initially adapted as a field hospital during the COVID-19 pandemic, featuring 90 ICU beds and 170 general beds. Since August 2021, it has fully integrated the operations of the former Hospital and Pronto Socorro Central, becoming a reference center for trauma, pediatric care, and scorpion sting treatment in the region.

The hospital is recognized for its high-quality emergency and trauma services, adhering to rigorous standards set by the São Bernardo do Campo Health Department. It plays a crucial role in managing major health incidents and accidents in the municipality.
