Hospital San Vito "Juana Pirola" is the principal public hospital serving the Coto Brus region in southern Costa Rica. In December 2022, it became the first hospital in the country named after a woman, honoring Juana Pirola, an Italian immigrant and healthcare pioneer who played a foundational role in the health and well-being of the local community.
