INCA is Brazil’s leading institution for cancer prevention, treatment, research, and policy. It operates as a technical branch of the Ministry of Health and coordinates national programs for cancer control, including prevention, early detection, hospital care, research, training, and epidemiological surveillance. INCA provides free, high-complexity cancer care through the Unified Public Health System (SUS) and is equipped with the most modern public diagnostic imaging facilities in Latin America. The Institute is also a center for postgraduate education and a leader in developing public policies for cancer control.
