Khairpur Medical College, Khairpur Mirs was established and inaugurated by Honorable Chief Minister of Sindh, Syed Qaim Ali Shah on 29th December 2012 in Elementary college Khairpur Mirs. Initially with name of LUMHS Khairpur Medical College, Khairpur Mirs as a part of Liaquat University of Medical & Health Sciences, Jamshoro. Later on, the name of college was changed to Khairpur Medical College, Khairpur Mirs as Project of Government of Sindh. Presently, there are 12 public sector Medical Colleges in Sindh including KMC Khairpur. The College was recognized by Pakistan Medical & Dental Council, Islamabad for 100 MBBS seats in 2015 and re recognized & registered by Pakistan Medical Commission /HEC Islamabad in january 2020 After recognition, first batch of 100 students was admitted for session 2014-15 who have graduated in March 2020. The College was affilliated with Peoples University of Medical and Health Sciences for women Nawab Shah (SBA). 500 bedded KMC-Teaching Hospital and 50 bedded Kausar Hospital Khairpur are attached to College for clinical training of students.
