MercyOne Children’s Hospital ICU - PICU, located in Des Moines, Iowa, is a specialized unit within MercyOne Children’s Hospital dedicated to the care of critically ill infants, children, and adolescents. The PICU provides advanced, family-centered care for children facing life-threatening conditions, trauma, surgery, or complex medical needs. The unit features bright, child-friendly surroundings and is supported by a multidisciplinary team of pediatric intensivists, nurses, child life specialists, pharmacists, dietitians, and social workers. The PICU is also home to Iowa’s only Ronald McDonald Family Room, allowing families to remain close to their hospitalized child
