About Us :

Norton Children’s Hospital is Kentucky and Southern Indiana’s only full-service, free-standing pediatric hospital. Along with its predecessor hospitals, Norton Children’s Hospital has cared for children for more than a century without regard to their families’ ability to pay.

The 300-bed hospital is Louisville’s only Level I Pediatric Trauma Center, provides the area’s highest-level neonatal intensive care unit and serves as the primary pediatric teaching facility for the University of Louisville School of Medicine.

The Panda Cares Center of Hope provides a private, comforting space for families as their child receives care in the Norton Children’s emergency department The area not only offers respite but is a place where the whole family can receive emotional, mental and spiritual support. Norton Children’s pastoral care team and child life specialists provide counseling, therapeutic play and other support to help parents, siblings and affected family members of a child in the hospital.

Hospital Beds & Infrastructure

My sons oxygen levels kept dropping and his labs shows he was severely anemic we were transferred here by another hospital and everyone we came in contact with there was amazing and so patient with our son who is only 9 months old. We loved our experience with them. We are glad to be home now but also had some peace of mind that he was in the best care while we were staying there

My son had a hemorrhage after surgery and we came to Norton children’s. Every single nurse and doctor that we came into contact with was wonderful. They have a specialist there just to help distract the kiddos and make them feel more at ease. She was amazing as well. My son ended up needing surgery and the doctors/nurses made us all feel more at ease and took great care of our boy! 10/10 will come here again if we have another emergency.
