To ensure that healthcare is as safe as possible, we work in many different ways to prevent risks and injuries that can occur in the hospital. As a patient, you also have the opportunity to make healthcare safer.

The staff is always responsible for ensuring that your care is as safe as possible, but as a patient you can also contribute to safer care. For example, by asking if there is something you do not understand or by speaking up if something seems wrong.

Here are examples of what you can do to help us reduce risks in healthcare:

ask about your continued care and treatment
Feel free to bring a loved one if it feels good to you.
wash your hands frequently to reduce the risk of infections
bring a list of your medications and get to know which ones you take and why
if you smoke – stop smoking in connection with surgery

Urgent appointment and when I arrived with my broken finger, I went in for an X-ray straight away. Then wait for the doctor's message that the pictures were ok, then I went home. The x-rays are sent to Malmö for hand surgery at Mas the next day, very efficiently
