St. Joseph's Hospital was inaugurated on March 19, 2015, by Shri Pabitra Kar, the Local MLA and Deputy Speaker of the Tripura Legislative Assembly. Built, managed, and owned by the Sisters of St. Joseph of Annecy (SJA) Bhubaneswar, it stands as the first Catholic hospital in the northeastern state of Tripura. The hospital was blessed by Holy Cross Bishop Lumen Monteiro of Agartala, who had previously laid the foundation for the structure in May 2012. The Agartala diocese donated the plot of land for the hospital's establishment. The hospital aims to provide accessible, quality, patient-centered healthcare at affordable rates, integrating psychological, social, physical, and spiritual aspects of care.
