The Women’s and Children’s Hospital of Kien Giang Province is a newly constructed, specialized hospital designed to address the health needs of mothers, newborns, and children in the Mekong Delta region. The hospital is one of five major new provincial hospitals built to reduce patient overload and improve healthcare quality in Kien Giang. It plays a key role in maternal and child health, providing a full range of services from obstetrics and gynecology to pediatrics, neonatal care, and preventive health. The hospital collaborates with national and international organizations to improve outcomes for vulnerable groups, including free heart screenings and interventions for children with congenital heart defects

However, like many provincial hospitals, there is an ongoing need for more trained pediatric and neonatal staff, and collaboration between pediatricians and obstetricians is being strengthened
