Yokohama Municipal Citizen’s Hospital opened in 1960 in Hodogaya-ku with 42 beds in four departments: Internal medicine, Pediatrics, Surgery, and Obstetrics and Gynecology, and since then, the hospital has increased its number of departments and beds to strengthen its functions as the core hospital of Yokohama city. In 2020, the hospital has relocated to Kanagawa-ku, adjacent to Mitsuzawa Park, where it will be able to provide a high standard of medical care in a lush green environment with 650 beds, 34 departments, and 1,600 staff members. The hospital enhances existing emergency medical care, cancer treatment, pediatric and perinatal care, infectious disease control, and disaster medical, and is actively engaged in high-level acute medical care and policy-based medical care.
