Dr Alan Luckie

Dr. Luckie has more than 35 years of experience in ophthalmology. After completing his medical degree in  University of Otago, he moved to Australia and trained in ophthalmology at RVEEH, Melbourne. He later undertook international vitreoretinal fellowships in London and San Francisco, which provided him with world-class surgical expertise.

For decades, he has been serving patients in Albury and regional NSW, providing both medical and surgical care for retinal and vitreous conditions. He also contributes to teaching and mentoring young ophthalmologists through his VMO role at Albury Wodonga Health.

Dr. Luckie has been actively engaged in clinical research related to retinal disorders. He has contributed to studies on macular degeneration, retinal detachment repair outcomes, and diabetic eye disease. His fellowship experience exposed him to international research environments, enhancing his academic contributions.

Dr. Luckie has contributed to peer-reviewed journals, conference presentations, and collaborative research projects in the field of vitreoretinal surgery. His bibliography includes publications on retinal detachment repair techniques, management of diabetic retinopathy, and macular degeneration treatment outcomes. He has also shared clinical case reports to improve retinal disease management in regional practice.
