Dr. Andrew Flett is a Consultant Cardiologist specializing in heart failure, cardiomyopathy, and cardiac magnetic resonance imaging. He undertook advanced training at The Heart Hospital, University College London Hospital, focusing on heart muscle disease. Dr. Flett was appointed as a Consultant Cardiologist at University Hospital Southampton in 2013. He also practices privately at Spire Southampton Hospital and Nuffield Health Wessex Hospital. Dr. Flett has a strong research background, having developed a novel technique for quantifying myocardial scarring using cardiac MRI. He is the Chief Investigator of the BRITISH Trial, a national study investigating the use of implantable cardioverter defibrillators in patients with non-ischemic cardiomyopathy.
