Dr. Andrew Gowers has been practicing as a General Practitioner (GP) in Sydney since 1992 after completing his MBChB at the University of Otago in 1991. After joining Holdsworth House in 1998, Dr. Gowers became a director of the practice, playing a key role in shaping Holdsworth House into a leading general practice in Sydney.
Dr. Gowers has over 30 years of experience in general practice, with a special focus on men’s wellness, HIV care, hepatitis C, and herpes management. He is known for his clinical excellence, which he ensures across all Holdsworth House sites. He has also contributed to the field by publishing several articles in men’s health and infectious diseases.
In addition to his clinical role, Dr. Gowers has served as a board member of the Australian Society for HIV Medicine (ASHM) and as chairman of the Australian Herpes Management Forum General Practice Working Group. His work in peer education and clinical leadership has earned him recognition within the healthcare community.
