Dr Jacqui Nicholson

Dr. Jacqui Nicholson is a General Practitioner who graduated from the University of New South Wales in 2012. After completing her medical degree, Dr. Nicholson has been working in various medical settings across Sydney and has recently returned to practice at East Sydney Doctors, where she is accepting new patients.

She provides compassionate care across all aspects of general practice, with special interest in gender-affirming care, HIV/PrEP, sexual health, and reproductive medicine. Dr. Nicholson is a trained S100 prescriber for HIV medications and PrEP and has experience in medical termination of pregnancy services.

Currently, Dr. Nicholson is pursuing a Master’s degree in Sexual and Reproductive Health at Sydney University. She is also trained in providing gender-affirming hormone replacement therapy, including masculinising and feminising hormone treatments and insertion of oestrogen implants using the informed consent model.

Dr. Nicholson has a keen interest in research related to gender-affirming care, particularly in the areas of hormone replacement therapy and sexual health. Her research interests also extend to menstrual health, contraception, and the management of HIV/PrEP. She is actively involved in academic discussions on improving access to reproductive health services and gender-affirming care. Dr. Nicholson’s research aims to reduce healthcare barriers for transgender individuals and improve the understanding and treatment of STIs, HIV, and reproductive health issues.

Dr. Nicholson has contributed to several healthcare journals and publications focused on sexual health, gender-affirming care, and HIV prevention. Her articles primarily discuss best practices in HIV management, PrEP, and reproductive health, as well as gender affirming care. Dr. Nicholson regularly speaks at health conferences and workshops aimed at educating healthcare professionals on the importance of inclusive healthcare and access to gender-affirming services. Her work also includes patient education materials on HIV prevention and sexual health, which are widely used by community healthcare providers.
