Dr. Javed Akhtar is a senior cardiologist with extensive experience in all major fields of cardiology, including interventional procedures. He has been practising since 1980 and has held various leadership roles in both NHS and academic settings.
He is actively involved in education and training, having designed protocols for the management of atrial fibrillation, acute heart failure, syncope, and evidence-based drug use for heart failure.
Dr. Akhtar has been heavily involved in the British Heart Foundation's campaign to raise awareness about coronary artery disease risk factors in Asian communities.
