DR JOHN BARRY

Dr. John Barry is an experienced General Practitioner with over 20 years of practice. He completed his MBBS at the University of Newcastle in 2002 and went on to achieve Fellowship with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) in 2012. Dr. Barry has also completed a Diploma in Child Health (DCH) and Diploma of Education (DipEd), which have equipped him with broad expertise in paediatrics and health education.

Dr. Barry has worked in General Practice and Emergency Medicine, providing care in various clinical settings. He has a compassionate approach to healthcare and is known for building long-term relationships with his patients. He has also gained substantial experience in caring for people from different cultural backgrounds, particularly through his volunteer work in Australia, Nepal, West Papua, and Ethiopia.

In 2011, Dr. Barry completed a Certificate in Expedition and Mountain Medicine at Mount Kosciuszko National Park, expanding his knowledge in emergency care in challenging environments. He is committed to providing health solutions in remote areas and has worked in diverse global settings, improving health outcomes in underserved communities.

Dr. Barry has been involved in various research initiatives related to emergency medicine and expedition health. His volunteer work in Nepal, West Papua, and Ethiopia has provided invaluable insights into healthcare delivery in low-resource settings, particularly in mountainous and remote areas.

He has also participated in studies focused on paediatric care and chronic disease management in the general practice setting, ensuring that his patients receive the most up-to-date and effective treatments available.
