Dr Sachin Kostasthane

Dr. Sachin Kostasthane has over 12 years of experience in Obstetrics & Gynaecology. He completed his MBBS at the University of Mumbai in 2005, followed by a Master of Medicine in Obstetrics & Gynaecology from the University of Sydney in 2012. Since completing his education, Dr. Kostasthane has worked in several hospitals and clinics, gaining comprehensive experience in both high-risk obstetrics and general gynaecology.

Dr. Kostasthane specializes in the management of pregnancy-related complications, menstrual disorders, family planning, and gynaecological surgeries, including laparoscopy and hysterectomies. He has worked extensively with women in managing conditions like endometriosis, fibroids, polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS), and pelvic inflammatory disease (PID). Dr. Kostasthane moved to Bathurst in 2020 to provide his expertise in women’s health to the local community. He is passionate about preventative care and helping women of all ages lead healthier lives.

Dr. Kostasthane has conducted research in the fields of obstetrics, gynaecology, and women's health, focusing on preventive care, minimally invasive surgery, and maternal-fetal medicine. His research has aimed at improving outcomes for high-risk pregnancies, particularly those involving gestational diabetes, pre-eclampsia, and multiple gestations. Dr. Kostasthane has also worked on improving surgical techniques in laparoscopic gynaecology, focusing on reducing recovery times and improving patient outcomes in procedures such as laparoscopic hysterectomy.

He continues to work on research projects that explore new treatments for menstrual disorders and non-invasive treatment options for fibroids. Dr. Kostasthane has contributed to various publications in medical journals, including the Australian and New Zealand Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology and International Journal of Gynaecology and Obstetrics.
