After completing his MBBS, he worked extensively overseas in a variety of clinical and consulting roles. He has worked in primary and secondary care settings, including significant experience with the World Health Organisation (WHO), focusing on infectious diseases.

Dr. Sam has worked in various regional areas, honing his skills in rural medicine and emergency care. He spent several years at Albury Wodonga Health, where he primarily worked in the Emergency Department.
