Dr. Tanushree Rao is a board-certified Advanced Laparoscopic Surgeon with over 12 years of experience in gynecology and advanced laparoscopic surgery. She completed her MBBS in 2005 at University of India, followed by MS (Obstetrics and Gynecology) in 2008. She then pursued postgraduate training at prestigious institutions, including completing the MRCOG (UK) in 2011 and FRANZCOG in 2014.
Dr. Rao has gained extensive experience in minimally invasive surgeries, including Total Laparoscopic Hysterectomy, Laparoscopic Myomectomies, Laparoscopic Ovarian Cystectomies, and Vaginal Hysterectomy. Her clinical work focuses on endometriosis treatment, pelvic floor repairs, and women’s reproductive health. She is passionate about patient-centered care and utilizes a shared decision-making approach, ensuring her patients feel heard and empowered in making informed decisions about their health.
Dr. Rao is currently working as a Staff Specialist and Senior Geriatrician in Gosford Hospital (Central Coast Local Health District). She also holds roles at Liverpool Hospital, Bowral Hospital, and Sydney South West Private Hospital.
In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Rao is committed to teaching and education as a Senior Lecturer at the University of Newcastle's School of Medicine.
