Experience

Dr. Tim Shortus has been a practicing General Practitioner (GP) for over 20 years since completing his MBBS at the University of Sydney in 2000. After his medical degree, he pursued a Master of Public Health (MPH) from UNSW, followed by a PhD in Public Health and Primary Care in 2008.

Dr. Shortus has been working at Broadway General Practice since 2004, where he has built a strong foundation in providing comprehensive care to individuals and families. His expertise spans across general practice, with particular focus on antenatal shared care, mental health, and chronic illness management. He is an advocate for continuity of care and believes in a whole-person approach to healthcare, providing treatment that considers not only the physical but also the emotional and psychological aspects of health.

In addition to his work in general practice, Dr. Shortus is a Conjoint Senior Lecturer at the Centre for Primary Health Care and Equity at UNSW, where he is involved in teaching and research focused on improving primary care outcomes.
