Dr Trung Dang

Dr. Trung Dang brings over 17 years of medical expertise, with a strong focus on retinal surgery and advanced ophthalmic care. His early foundation in optometry and vision science gave him a unique perspective before transitioning into medicine at the University of Melbourne.

After completing ophthalmology training at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital, Dr. Dang pursued advanced fellowships in medical and surgical retina at both EyeClinic Albury-Wodonga and Auckland University. His clinical practice now focuses on managing complex retinal disorders, including retinal detachment, macular degeneration, and diabetic retinopathy.

Alongside his clinical work, Dr. Dang is actively involved in regional and international eye health initiatives, particularly through his work with HOPE – an eye care charity he co-founded. Currently, he serves as a Visiting Medical Officer at Albury Wodonga Health, where he provides specialized retinal care for patients across the border region.

Dr. Dang’s research background is in retinal electrophysiology, where he completed doctoral studies exploring the function of the retina. He has been involved in research projects focusing on retinal imaging, surgical techniques, and improving outcomes in vitreoretinal surgery. His contributions extend to both academic publications and clinical practice improvements.
