Dr. Whitfield is the primary provider at Whitfield Family Practice. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Mississippi State University in 2004 with a degree in microbiology/pre-med. Dr. Whitfield graduated from The University of Mississippi Medical Center School of Medicine in 2008. She completed a residency in family medicine at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, MS in 2012. During the last year of her residency, she provided emergency medical services for several rural hospitals across north MS.
After completing her residency, she moved back to north AL to be with her husband and begin practicing medicine. From 2012 to 2021 she practiced as an employed physician for several hospitals across north AL. Dr Whitfield decided to enter private practice in January 2021 and opened the doors to Whitfield Family Practice in Decatur, AL on February 1, 2021.
Dr. Whitfield is licensed to practice medicine in AL and MS and is fully certified by the American Academy of Family Physicians. Dr. Whitfield lives in Decatur with her husband and two sons. She enjoys spending time with her family, attending church, shopping, MS State football and traveling.
