Digambar Behera is a distinguished Indian pulmonologist with over 45 years of experience, beginning with his MBBS at SCB Medical College, Cuttack in 1978. Following MD and DNB training at PGIMER Chandigarh, he served as Professor & Head of Pulmonary Medicine and Dean (Research) at PGIMER, and later led NITRD and Fortis Hospital Mohali. A pioneer in lung disease management, Dr. Behera chaired India's National Tuberculosis Elimination Task Force and has published more than 580 scientific papers and 9 books. Honored with the Padma Shri (2020) and Dr. B.C. Roy Award (2004), he continues to shape respiratory healthcare policy and education nationally.
