Her uncle, who was in family practice, inspired her to pursue a career in health care. “I shadowed my uncle for a while when I was in college,” she said. “It was such a great experience, I chose to go into the same field. Dr. Schenne grew up in Iowa. She went to Des Moines University for medical school then moved to Detroit for post-graduate training, where she completed a traditional internship, family practice residency and osteopathic manipulative medicine fellowship.
