Dr. Krishna Mohan Pathi, born on 6 September 1939 in Sukunda village (Ganjam district, Odisha), is a distinguished orthopaedic surgeon renowned for over five decades of service, especially among tribal communities. After completing his MBBS from SCB Medical College (Cuttack), he earned an MS in Orthopaedics as a Commonwealth Medical Fellow in England (1972). As Professor and Principal at MKCG Medical College, Berhampur, he initiated super-specialty departments including trauma and paediatric surgery. Notably, he appeared in the Limca Book of Records for performing a rare temporomandibular joint surgery. Post-retirement, he founded Bharadwaj Gurukul Ashram and has offered free orthopaedic care to the poor and tribal people in Ganjam for over three decades. Awarded the Padma Shri in 2021 and the Dr. B.C. Roy National Award in 2004, he embodies medical excellence and compassion.
