Dr. Purnima Bhat

Dr. Purnima Bhat has 12 years of experience in gastroenterology, having completed her MBBS in 2009 from the University of Mumbai and her FRACP (Gastroenterology) in 2018. After completing her medical degree, Dr. Bhat worked as an intern and resident at Sir H. N. Reliance Foundation Hospital, where she gained extensive experience in internal medicine and gastroenterology.

Dr. Bhat specializes in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), hepatitis management, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), liver diseases, and endoscopic procedures. She is highly skilled in performing colonoscopy, esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD), and liver biopsies. Dr. Bhat’s expertise also extends to the treatment of chronic liver conditions like cirrhosis and hepatitis B/C.

Since moving to Wagga Wagga in 2019, Dr. Bhat has been providing expert gastroenterology care to the local community. Her work includes diagnosis and management of IBD and hepatitis, as well as performing routine and advanced endoscopic procedures.

Dr. Bhat has been involved in gastroenterology research, particularly focusing on inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), hepatitis B/C, and minimally invasive techniques in endoscopy.
