Dr. Samih Guirguis

Dr. Samih Guirguis has 30 years of clinical experience, with a diverse background in general practice, cardiology, and skin cancer medicine. After completing his MBBS and MSc in Cardiology in Egypt, Dr. Guirguis worked as a specialist physician in cardiology before relocating to Australia in 2003. After completing his basic physician training at several prestigious hospitals, including Royal Prince Alfred Hospital (RPA), Dr. Guirguis retrained as a specialist GP and received his FRACGP in 2008. His professional interests include chronic disease management, particularly diabetes, respiratory conditions such as asthma and COPD, obesity, and orthopedic conditions. Additionally, he is highly skilled in skin cancer diagnosis and surgery, holding multiple specialized certificates in dermoscopy, skin cancer medicine, and skin cancer surgery. Dr. Guirguis is also dedicated to teaching the next generation of doctors as a Conjoint Lecturer at UNSW Medicine and an accredited GP supervisor with the RACGP.

Dr. Guirguis has been actively involved in research related to chronic disease management, skin cancer treatments, and cardiovascular health. His research has focused on the role of general practitioners in managing chronic conditions and improving early diagnosis of skin cancer. He has also contributed to studies on the integration of skin cancer screening into general practice and the effectiveness of minimally invasive techniques in skin cancer surgery.

Dr. Guirguis has also written about minimally invasive techniques for skin cancer surgery, including skin excisions, biopsies, skin grafts, and flap procedures.
