Dr. Mitra has over  4 years of experience in pediatrics, working in leading hospitals and academic institutions. She began her career as a resident pediatrician at a multispecialty hospital, where she gained hands-on experience in neonatal intensive care (NICU), general pediatrics, and emergency medicine.

She later joined a renowned pediatric center in Kolkata, where she provided comprehensive child healthcare services, including growth monitoring, vaccination programs, and developmental screening for infants and toddlers.

Currently, Dr. Mitra serves as an Assistant Professor at Dr. B.C. Roy Postgraduate Institute of Pediatric Sciences, Kolkata, where she trains medical students and pediatric residents while continuing her clinical practice in pediatric care.

Dr. Mitra has actively participated in research projects focused on child health, neonatal care, and pediatric infections. Her key research contributions include:
