Established in 1964, Al-Yarmouk Teaching Hospital is one of Iraq's premier medical institutions, located in the Al-Karkh district of Baghdad. Adjacent to Al-Mustansiriya Medical College, it serves as a pivotal teaching hospital for medical students. With a capacity of approximately 700 beds, it stands as the second-largest hospital in Iraq and the largest emergency facility in the country.

The hospital is renowned for its comprehensive services, including emergency care, outpatient clinics, medical and surgical departments, obstetrics and gynecology, oncology, and specialized units such as orthopedics, burn care, and urology. It also houses advanced teaching laboratories, a radiology department, a blood bank, and the National Center for Hematology and Cancer Research.
