On a scale of 1 to 5, I’d rate Maine General Augusta a 10! My wife was admitted by ambulance and stayed for ten days. The staff of nurses, CNAs, housekeeping, room service delivery folks, and hospitalists were all skilled, compassionate, friendly, and radiated positive vibes. The new facility is not only beautiful, but pleasant and inspiring of positive attitudes and feelings. The level of medical care is unsurpassed and leads towards healing. The cafeteria is a first-rate restaurant with a wide variety on the menu, tasty foods, wonderful deserts, and upbeat friendly staff. Attention to the patient is caring and quick, and care for the caregiver is deeply appreciated. And… where else in the world can the caregiver order a room service guest tray with lobster roll, 2 sides, deserts, and beverage? We experienced nothing but the highest in professionalism, warmth, friendliness, and true caring from the medical staff. Thank you Maine General Augusta!

Five stars only so my review is seen!!! The behavioral health department is horrible!!! People going in that is serious need of mental health to the point where they are a danger to themselves and others and the hospital does a quick evaluation and releases them back into the public. Than turning around and blaming local law enforcement when something bad happens seriously how can you tell family members you are well aware the said person is hallucinating and delusional and in psychosis one day than let them out the very next day? It's mistakes like that that gets innocent people hurt alfond behavioral health should be ashamed!!! Something needs to be done about their carelessness they need to be held accountable!!
