Established in 2009 by Mata Amritanandamayi (Amma), Amrita Health Centre in Shadipur, South Andaman, aims to provide accessible and affordable healthcare to the underserved communities of the Andaman Islands. The centre offers daily outpatient consultations, home care services for bedridden patients, and operates essential diagnostic equipment such as ECG and X-ray machines. In 2023, the centre expanded its services with the inauguration of a satellite clinic in Bambooflat, enhancing healthcare access through consultations, telemedicine, and digital lab services. The centre is supported by volunteers from the Amriteswari Society, Singapore, who have contributed to upgrading medical equipment and facilities.
