Spitalul Judetean de Urgenta din Pitesti este cea mai mare si mai importanta unitate medicala din judetul Arges si este dedicat mentinerii sanatatii, demnitatii si calitatii vietii tuturor celor pe care ii serveste. Unitatea de primire urgente (UPU) recent modernizata, este dotata cu tehnica medicala de mare performanta conform celor mai inalte standarde medicale de prima interventie. Se asigura transportul medicalizat pentru: persoanele provenite din accidente grave aflate in pericol vital, pacienti aflati in stare critica in localitati mici sau izolate, pacienti critici carora nu li se poate acorda asistenta corespunzatoare cazurilor respective.
