• Free, Comprehensive Cardiac Care: The AHC aims to provide state-of-the-art, free-of-charge medical care to all patients, regardless of their background. 
• Open Heart Operations: The AHC performs a significant number of open-heart operations annually, with a large portion being congenital heart surgeries, especially in children. 
• Cardiac Catheterizations: The center also conducts a substantial number of cardiac catheterizations.

• Transposition of the Great Arteries (TGA): The AHC is equipped to handle cases of TGA.

• Knighthood: Sir Magdi Yacoub was knighted for his services to medicine and surgery in 1991. 
• Order of Merit: He received the Order of Merit in 2014, becoming the first Egyptian to receive this prestigious UK award. 
• Lister Medal: The Royal College of Surgeons awarded him the Lister Medal in 2015, considered the most distinguished award in surgery in Great Britain and Ireland. 
• Fellowship of the Academy of Medical Sciences: He was awarded Fellowship of the Academy of Medical Sciences in 1998.
