Ayatollah Taleghani Educational and Medical Center of Urmia began operating in October 1970, transitioning from a tourism and education facility to a hospital. Officially approved by the Ministry of Health and Medical Education in 1980 with an organizational chart for 450 beds, it has grown into a leading referral center in West Azerbaijan Province. The hospital specializes in internal medicine, infectious diseases, cardiology, dermatology, poisoning, and houses the province’s largest dialysis complex. During the COVID-19 pandemic, it was the sole referral center for COVID-19 patients in the province for over two years. Today, it continues to play a vital role in providing educational, therapeutic, and diagnostic services to both local and regional patients
