Founded in 1924, the hospital was initially named Saint-Vincent House and later taken over by the Grey Nuns of the Cross in 1932. It moved to its current location on Cambridge Street and offers specialized programs aimed at improving and maintaining function for patients with complex care needs (Bruyère) (Bruyère).

1. My father passed away on the Palliative Care/Hospice wing last week, having been moved there from a small country hospital that couldn't provide Palliative Care services. The facilities were lovely and quiet. The team of doctors, nurses and aides were very on the ball and listened to both our wants and needs as patient and family. Gotta give a huge shout out to nurse Shawn, Dr. Jessica Roy and Dr. Leticia da Silva (resident), in particular. The attention and care we received from this trio made a difficult time so much easier. Also, chi-miigwetch to the Spiritual Care team.
2. The best place in Ottawa to care for your family member. Hard working healthcare workers including nurses, pca's, researchers, social workers, dietetitians, secretaries, doctors environmental & kitchen personel & more, ready to fuffill your important needs at all times giving you the best possible care to help you get healthy and ready to face new challenges with the support to back you up. Kind, helpful, dedicated & loving staff. Great management that truly cares.
