Quang Ninh Lung Hospital has 200 beds, attracting over 19,000 people for medical examination; Outpatient treatment for over 13,000 people and inpatient treatment for over 6,200 patients each year. To serve the examination and treatment needs of patients, in recent years, the Hospital has deployed new, specialized techniques. At the Department of Functional Exploration, Quang Ninh Lung Hospital, since 2018, doctors and nurses have received the transfer of endoscopic pleural biopsy and flexible bronchoscopy techniques. With this technique, a flexible semi-rigid scope is inserted into the patient's pleural cavity to detect lesions, take specimens for diagnosis and treatment of advanced lung diseases. Thereby, endoscopic pleural biopsies were performed for about 60 patients and 600 patients underwent flexible bronchoscopy each year. Doctor Nguyen Trung Kien, Department of Functional Exploration, Quang Ninh Lung Hospital, said: In order to effectively promote the facilities and equipment that have been invested, we continue to propose to hospital leaders to deploy pleurodesis techniques to treat lung cancer patients. From there, it helps patients have access to high and difficult techniques right at the provincial level, without having to be transferred, saving costs and reducing the load on higher-level hospitals.
