Benha University Hospital has demonstrated a strong commitment to quality improvement, particularly in stroke care. The hospital established the first stroke unit in Qalyubiyya Governorate, a 12-bed facility dedicated to providing specialized care for stroke patients. Through continuous education, optimized stroke pathways, and multidisciplinary cooperation, the hospital has significantly improved treatment outcomes, including reducing door-to-needle time for thrombolysis from 60 to 30 minutes. This progress earned the hospital the Gold Award from the World Stroke Organization (WSO) Angels Initiative in 2022. The hospital actively participates in quality registries such as RES-Q to monitor and enhance care standards. These efforts reflect a culture of ongoing quality improvement and patient safety.
