The Hospital for Tropical Diseases (HTD) is the UK’s only hospital dedicated exclusively to the diagnosis, treatment, and research of tropical and travel-related diseases. Founded in 1821, the HTD has a long tradition of clinical excellence and research leadership in tropical medicine. It provides specialist clinical treatment and diagnostic services for diseases such as malaria, leprosy, chagas, parasitic infections, and rare imported conditions. The hospital is also home to the National Travel Health Network and Centre and offers a “Find and Treat” service for infectious diseases. Outpatient services are located at Mortimer Market, while inpatient care is provided at University College Hospital (UCH)
