I fell in Progreso and broke my ankle. Badly, required surgery, which was done the next day. I spent 4 days in the hospital and got the best care. I decided to stay in Progreso for two additional weeks to have the stitches taken out there. I also had some complications that required me to go to the emergency room multiple times over those two weeks. I never had to wait more that 10 minutes to be seen. When I got back to the states, my orthopedic surgeon here said the the Mexican doctors did a good job, which was comforting. I was so pleased with my care that after I left, I had a bouquet of flowers delivered to the reception desk with a thank-you note.

Coming from New York, I was not sure about moving to Progreso because I have a family of four, not sure if the hospital would be good. My 6 year old hurt his foot in a 4-wheeler beach accident, took him to the Emergency room. The front desk spoke some English. The first P.A. I saw didnt speak English, but I was able to explain what happened. He recommend X-ray, got that quickly, no broken bone. Saw the doctor at the end of the 1.5 hour stay and paid only $60 U.S. I would suggest being very vocal in explaining what you need done and not assuming anyone understands. Tell them what has happened or what you need done many times and make sure they understand! What more can you expect? Great job staff!

I came around 7:30pm on a Friday due to ongoing stomach cramps and bad bowel movements. I was in and out with a prescription slip in about 15 minutes, for 700 pesos. The doctors speak decent English and clearly understood my issue, but having a translator app on my phone was helpful at reception.
