The department treats over 18,000 patients annually, ranging from life-threatening emergencies (cardiac arrest, stroke, major trauma) to minor injuries and illnesses. Staffed by experienced physicians and nurses with advanced emergency training, the Emergency Department features 20 private exam rooms, expanded observation areas, and a comfortable waiting space for families. Chelsea Hospital is a 133-bed, not-for-profit hospital jointly owned by Trinity Health and University of Michigan Health, and is nationally recognized for quality and patient satisfaction
