Founded on August 30, 2003, Hospital Municipal de Contagem (HMC) is a regional reference in urgent and emergency care in the metropolitan area of Belo Horizonte. The hospital operates with 312 beds, with 293 dedicated to SUS services, offering specialized care in several medical fields such as internal medicine, general surgery, orthopedics, neurology, cardiology, gynecology/obstetrics, pediatrics, and intensive care units (ICU).
In 2022, the hospital conducted over 11,000 consultations and performed more than 5,000 elective surgeries.
It also provides a Maternity House that supports high-risk pregnancies without requiring hospitalization, offering essential care for both mothers and newborns.
