Dignity Health Sequoia Hospital is a not-for-profit community hospital located in Redwood City, California. The hospital's history began in 1938 when a group of nine women, led by Mary "Dove" Beeger, proposed the idea for Sequoia Hospital. It officially opened on October 15, 1950, as one of the first district hospitals in California. In 1996, Sequoia Hospital affiliated with Catholic Healthcare West (CHW), which later became Dignity Health, and in 2008, CHW assumed full ownership of the hospital.
