Fukushima Medical University Hospital has a history of nearly 150 years, dating back to Shirakawa Temporary Hospital, which opened in 1871. After that, it was Sukagawa Hospital and Fukushima Prefectural Women's Medical College, and in 1952, the new Fukushima Medical University was established, starting a new journey. In 1987, it moved from Sugitsuma-cho to Hikarigaoka, and the current hospital was completed.
The basic philosophy of our hospital is "walking together with the people of the prefecture, aiming for medical care that supports health and warm medical care." Based on this basic philosophy, as the only specified functional hospital in the prefecture, we provide advanced medical care and specialized treatment, and are responsible for treating diseases and serious patients that are difficult to treat at other medical institutions. On the other hand, in addition to advanced medical care, it is also important to provide a sympathetic response to patients and improve the quality of medical care. We will strive to improve medical services that reflect the voices of patients and provide easy-to-understand explanations and information.
Another important role of our hospital is to develop medical personnel and contribute to local medical care. As the shortage of doctors is an issue in the prefecture, we will strive to develop human resources who will support regional medical care, with a strong sense of ethics and respect for people's lives, human rights and privacy. In particular, we would like to contribute to the improvement of regional medical care through the training of young doctors and the dispatch of doctors to hospitals in the prefecture.

Thank you for your help at the obstetrics and gynecology department. However, many of the nurses, including my doctor and NICU teachers, are really nice. However, a professor of obstetrics and gynecology...I was a beginner and was examined by a professor, but how to say it! ``If you strain yourself in the toilet, you might die, right?'' Seriously, what are you? ! Don't take the title professor lightly! Is this a line you would say to a patient you are meeting for the first time? That's what I think. Also, there is a lot of pressure when the professor makes his rounds. What do you want to achieve by making the patient shrink? ! That professor can't heal anything that can be cured. I was able to give birth safely to both mother and child, not because of my professor, but because of my attending physician and the doctors from other departments. Thank you very much.

I have been receiving orthopedic surgery and other treatments for many years. My brother-in-law, who was hospitalized, underwent a bone marrow transplant here and it was a great success. Normally, they would wait for a suitable donor, but apparently they cultured their own blood and transplanted bone marrow fluid... The progress of doctors and medicine is amazing (;∀; ) Thank you
