Furano Kyokai Hospital opened in 1940 as one of the base hospitals of the Hokkaido Social Work Association, and in 1976 it was designated as the "regional center hospital" for the Furano area, which includes one city, three towns and one village, including Furano City, Kamifurano Town, Nakafurano Town, Minamifurano Town and Shimukappu Village. With the cooperation of many people, our hospital relocated and opened in its current location in Sumiyoshi Town in May 2007 as a hospital with 255 beds. As the regional center hospital for the Furano area, we intend to continue contributing to regional medical care by quickly establishing an internal system that will enable us to provide safe and advanced medical care to the residents of this area and neighboring cities and towns even more than before. Furthermore, in order to maintain and improve acute and emergency medical care, we will work closely with the hospitals and clinics of the Furano Medical Association, as well as with hospitals and clinics in neighboring cities and towns, and with the administrative authorities of one city, three towns and one village. We will continue to pool the wisdom of our staff and make efforts to become a hospital that is trusted and loved by the local community as a "hospital where you can receive advanced medical care with peace of mind."
