In October 2023, the Intelligence Bureau (IB) of Punjab uncovered embezzlement and misappropriation of funds totaling over Rs200 million at Mian Munshi Hospital and Said Mitha Hospital. The investigation implicated Dr. Adnan-ul-Qamar, the Medical Superintendent during that period, and highlighted significant financial irregularities, including inflated budgets and kickbacks. The IB recommended a transparent inquiry and removal of the accused individuals from their positions to prevent interference with the investigation.
