About Us :

The Grand Duchess Charlotte Maternity Hospital, named after Charlotte, Grand Duchess of Luxembourg (reigned 1919–1964), was established in 1936 under the leadership of Dr. M. Bohler and the Luxembourg Red Cross. It became part of the Centre Hospitalier de Luxembourg in 1975, together with the Pediatric Clinic and the Municipal Hospital. The hospital has a long tradition of pioneering maternity care in Luxembourg, introducing the first incubator in 1951 and expanding services with gynecology and childbirth medical gymnastics units by the mid-20th century. In 2015, a new state-of-the-art maternity building was inaugurated, designed to combine comfort, safety, and advanced medical technology, physically connected to the pediatric clinic (KannerKlinik) to optimize mother-child care.

The hospital is recognized as a center of excellence with ISO 9001 certification for its Breast Unit since 2014. The 2015 new building emphasizes patient comfort, safety, and efficient care pathways. The hospital focuses on multidisciplinary, patient-centered care, supporting women, children, and families throughout pregnancy, childbirth, and early parenthood.
