Gulab Devi Teaching Hospital was opened for admission of patients in November, 1934. The trustees responsible for managing the hospital gradually migrated to India in 1947. Begum Raana Liaqat Ali Khan, Sir Syed Muratab Ali, Prof.Dr.Amiruddin along with some other philanthropists became acting trustees in July 1948. A Managing Committee was formed to run this hospital as a Tuberculosis hospital. Since the time of partition of the Sub-Continent, strength of this hospital has increased has increased from 56 beds to 1500 beds. It provides free treatment to more than 90% of its patients.
